How are you supposed to get your children to eat the recommended five portions of fruit and vegetables a day?
ïQuite simple,Í says Southampton subscriber, Karen Bali whose book on healthy heating for children has been published by White Ladder Press, ïyou trick them.Í
The Art of Hiding Vegetables (£7.99) is KarenÍs second book. Her first, Hello Dad was based on her work as a specialist genealogist and sought to address the questions asked by those seeking fathers and provide practical help and information for the search.
Karen decided to write this, quite different, book with
another working mother, Sally Child, ex-health visitor and
nutritional therapist, because she feared her own children
were becoming chicken nugget ïjunkiesÍ.
ïThe
title came first Æ it literally fell into my head one day
while cooking,Í she explains. ïI was trying, as usual, to
make the family meal a little healthier. I just thought it
would be a good title for a book and ideas for techniques
and recipes gradually followed. I started jotting them down
and it just sort of grew.Í
