Star poetry

Lancashire member, Norman Johnson is ‘totally fed up’... Fed up with the prejudice against and lack of opportunity for rhyming poetry, Norman has started a magazine called Star dedicated to good rhyming poetry only. ‘Thousands of people still write it and thousands still enjoy reading it, so why the prejudice?’ asks Norman. ‘Granted there is a lot of poor rhyming poetry but this also applies to free verse where there is some pretentious rubbish. There is a lot of good rhyming poetry out there and it deserves better treatment than it gets.’ The first issue of the magazine will be out this month.
