Debut tale from Pam

Good news from subscriber, Pam Fudge, whose first book is to be published by Transita this April. Pam’s novel Widow on the World, is a triumph for a writer who admits that ‘she lost her way for a while’.

She had been a keen writer and tutor with numerous published short stories to her name and also two category romances but after her husband’s death Pam found it very hard to keep motivated. She never gave up entirely on her writing though, continuing to write poetry as she had done since childhood.

After re-marrying in 1999 Pam’s enthusiasm for fiction writing returned. Her confidence received a boost when short story agency Midland Exposure took her on and her short fiction began to find its way into print again.

Sadly, in 2003 Pam was widowed a second time and again she struggled... ‘to find the real me – the writer’. But she says, ‘This is not a tale of woe. I’ve had two wonderful marriages to two very supportive men and I wouldn’t have missed a moment of those years.’

Her perseverance paid off when when Widow on the World was accepted by Transita.’The title will come as no surprise,’ she says, ‘but this is far from a depressing story.’ Pam is now working on a new book and ‘very happy to be writing again’.
