to Writers’ News since issue one, Maggie
B Dickinson, Preston, features in the latest anthology published
by US e-zine Absolute Write.
Stories of Strength, a collection intending to

relief efforts, was driven by participants of discussion
groups on the website, www.absolutewrite.com,
founded by author Jenna Glatzer.
Uplifting
essays, short fiction and poetry, all on the theme of ‘strength’,
feature in the collection, which will benefit charities
including the Red Cross, Americares and the Salvation Army.
More
than 100 writers have contributed, with higher profile names
lending their support, including science fiction novelist
Orson Scott Card, who has written a hymn, Star Trek actor
Wil Wheaton, who contributes an essay, and Christian romance
author Robin Lee Hatcher, who offers a short story.
Maggie’s contribution, A Coat of Paint, is
about how strength from within and a sense of humour help
carers cope with sufferers of Alzheimer’s Disease.
To further swell contributions, online publishers Lulu are
also donating their share of profits from the book sales.
