Course Name:Writing poetry (UK) - Specialist Course (Outright)
Course Cost:£173 (UK price, also payable in easy instalments)
Course Description:Poetry can be the most creative and the most satisfying of all forms of writing. Most people who enjoy words have within them the ability to create poetry, if only they knew how. Our course teaches where and how to find inspiration, how to translate the inspiration into words, and how to craft your words into lines of poetry.

You learn to handle rhyme, rhythm, metre and all the other tools of the poet's craft. You learn to write sonnets, ballads, rondeaus and all the other forms, even blank verse. And you learn by working one-to-one with your personal tutor who will be a published poet and recognised lecturer. Your tutor will also help iron out those wrinkles that can be the difference between winning and losing poetry competitions and even seeing your work in print.

To have your work accepted means more than just writing good poetry. It also means understanding how these markets work, what they are looking for and how to meet their needs. These are all things that your course will cover and on which your tutor will advise you. Remember, your tutor will have experience of being a competition judge so they will have plenty of hints to pass on.
